AMRF

Dear Friends,

As we began our 20th year of operation the humanitarian work of AMRF focused on assistance to hospitals in the Philippines , Latin America and Africa .  The Governor of Tarlac Province in the Philippines and the director of the sponsoring EHA Memorial Help Foundation visited AMRF/Brockton in August to inspect the equipment to be donated, and they indicated that “the donation will go a long way on helping the people of Tarlac”.  The donated equipment, which we recently shipped, will be used in the Tarlac Provincial Hospital , the only public hospital in the region.  It serves approximately 1 million people there.  We also completed recently a container shipment of medical equipment and hospital supplies for the Hospital Centro Médico Infantil in Guatemala , and we are now working on a container for the Hospital Municipal de Salazar in Argentina sponsored by the Rotary Club of Charlotte-South in North Carolina .  We have prospects for continued donations of medical equipment and supplies in these countries as well as initiating new programs for hospitals in Honduras , India , Kenya and Lebanon .

Victor Sologaistoa, Vice President Operations and volunteer biomedical engineer, Darren Beaupre, visited Guinea-Bissau this spring to assist in the installation of two containers of medical equipment previously donated and shipped to the Bissau Clinic.  Guinea-Bissau is a small African country with a major scarcity of healthcare facilities.  On the same trip they assisted the Ministry of Health of Senegal to assess hospital equipment capabilities in that country.  AMRF President, Tom Magliocchetti, is consulting on the design of a hospital in Kenya following his visit there last year to review the architect’s plans and the location.

These are a sampling of our current humanitarian programs, which we are carrying out with your financial support and the help of our enthusiastic volunteer team and diligent staff.  Your gifts make it possible for AMRF to continue its programs of making medical equipment and supplies available to hospitals serving needy communities all over the world and are very much appreciated by the hospitals and us.

We will be most grateful for your generous donations.

Thanks so much!

Kay Barney, Chairman
